Makeup Revolution Conceal & Define Foundation – Not for the weak hearted (Review)
Its been a while that I sat down to write a detailed review of the products I am currently using mostly because
1. I am creating more content for my instagram these days including makeup looks and videos, which you guys better check out (HERE)
2. I have gotten myself into so many things together and now its all making me go nuts
3. Life
And of course I am lazy.
Anyways, now I am finally writing a detailed review of a new foundation that I clearly am not in love with but I don’t hate it either, the Makeup Revolution Conceal and Define foundation. Keep on reading to know if its for you!
Makeup Revolution Conceal & Define Foundation :
Ageless. Unisex. Affordable. Yours.
NEW to the Conceal & Define family, meet our Conceal & Define Full Coverage Foundation.
Offering lightweight yet buildable coverage in 24 skin-true shades, this versatile foundation is designed to suit every skin type and tone.
With an oil-free yet creamy and comfortable formula that dries down to a long-lasting, demi-matte finish, it won’t settle into fine lines or cling to dry patches.
Housed in a luxe glass bottle with a jumbo doe-foot applicator for greater control and less waste, this foundation offers highly pigmented coverage that can be layered or diffused to suit your look.
Swipe on and blend out to ramp up the coverage for a ‘real skin’ finish that diffuses blemishes and uneven skin tone. Or let your complexion’s natural character shine through using a small amount with a damp beauty sponge for veil-like coverage.
Follow with your favourite shades of Conceal & Define Concealer to highlight, contour or conceal.
VEGAN. CRUELTY FREE, PARABEN FREE, OIL FREE
My Experience :
The Makeup Revolution Conceal & Define Foundation comes in a frosted glass bottle with a screw cap and a large doe foot applicator just like their coveted Conceal and Define concealer. However, the applicator has received quite mixed reviews about the hygiene and carrying bacteria into the product after multiple dippings, but here are my two cents on this. Prepping your skin before applying foundation is very important for its maximum performance and cleansing is a very important part of prepping. Now if you properly clean your face, there would be minimal chances of getting bacteria into the product. Also if you have to apply the foundation upon another person, take the product on a pallete or the back of your hand and there will be no chance of cross infections. But still I prefer the pump dispenser for the foundations because its just super easy and avoids all sorts of possible problems. Now since its a glass bottle, you have to be careful while handling it and carrying it around especially if your bag is a “Throw and Go” kind like mine. Even though its thick glass but its still glass, its breakable. The signature MakeupRevolution Rose Gold accent is on the bottle and I absolutely love it!
The foundation has a thick creamy consistency and one dip of the applicator gives enough product to cover your whole face. The coverage is medium to full and is easily buildable without being patchy or moving around. The foundation dries down pretty quickly so I advise you work quickly with it and blend it fast. The foundation blends like a dream and gives a very very beautiful demi matte finish that I absolutely love. After a while the foundation sets and even if you skip powder, it stays put for a very long time. I have worn it to events many times and it lasted me a good 6-8 hours even under harsh light. Only thing tha puts me off is that it settles down in my smile lines and looks very odd in that area. I have tried setting it with powder but still it just creases there. Under the eyes, forehead and rest of the face stays fresh and put and doesn’t crease anywhere else. Also the foundation oxidises after a while so you should better be careful while selecting your shade, I would suggest you go one shade lighter than your shade, in the same Undertone, so when it oxidises you get a perfect match.
Talking about the shade match, MakeupRevolution has outdone themselves by bringing a shade range of 50 colors, ranging from the palest to the deepest of skin tones, setting a true standard of inclusiveness in beauty for all brands out there.
All in all, its a great foundation both for oily and dry skin beauties as the finish is neither completely matte nor dewy. Both skin types can make it work for them. My only problem is the setting into my smile lines, which I really don’t like. I hope to fix that soon. I am wearing this foundation HERE & HERE, If you want to see how it looks on me.
Swatch :
I picked the shade F8, which is for light/medium skin tones with warm undertones. Due to excessive sun exposure these days I have gone 2 shades darker than my previous color so that why you are going to see a lot of difference in the comparison Swatches :

Good to see your review after a long time. I agree with everything you have said about this foundation. However strangely it does not oxidize on me.
