Wet n Wild Photofocus Foundation – What foundation dreams are made of! (Review & Swatch)
Long time no see, eh mate? Well, won’t launch into the gory details as to what and why I wasn’t able to write in a long time because the only reason is that its cold and I am lazy, yup nothing dramatic. Also had a couple of exams, throw in a little research project and a professor who won’t listen to you, so gets kind of something that doesn’t let you write.
But I had been (not so) secretly hoarding makeup, most of the things that were quite raved about in the past year and I finally decided to get them. One of them had to be the most talked about drugstore foundation, Wet n Wild Photofocus Foundation and today we are going to talk about it.

My Experience:
The wet n wild photofocus foundation comes in rectangular glass bottle with a screw on cap. The dispenser is basically a plastic paddle wand which takes out enough product in a dip that you can go with for you whole face. Personally, I don’t like paddle wands because I feel like they are not hygienic much no matter if you take out the foundation on the back of your hand or an artist pallette, it will always get contaminated. Anyhow, that’s all about personal preference. The bottle is really sturdy and cap screws down really tight so I can safely say that its travel friendly, but obviously you have to take care of it slipping off your hands because its glass, and glass breaks, so yeah.
Coming on to the product itself, the foundation is a medium consistency fluid like that has a very soft and smooth texture. It isn’t thick or lumpy at all, however you need to shake it well before useage so it mixes well just in case. The foundation applies smoothly to the skin and blends like a dream. I use a paddle brush to blend my foundations and this one needs just a little effort to blend it seamlessly. It doesn’t dry down fast and gives you enough time to work it into your skin. Once blended, gives a very soft light medium coverage that has a satin/velvet finish and is semi matte sothere is definitely that luminous healthy glow to the skin for sure. If you want to build up the coverage, it layers up smoothly and doesn’t go patchy or cakey at all. The only thing that bothered me a little is its paint like fragrance that isn’t too strong (like L. A girl Pro coverage high definition long wear Illumination Foundation) and fades away soon after application, but still if you are someone who doesn’t like these smells added to your cosmetics, you might want to rethink.
It is a very long staying foundation that lasts a good 7-8 hours on me before fading off slightly especially on my T-zone because it gets really oily and foundation starts to slip off. However once set with powder and setting spray you can wear it for even extended periods (I usually skip both the steps). One of the claims by the brand is that it gives a zero flashback in photographs and I kind of agree with it. Not that I have seen it through all types of the lighting but still i am very happy with the results I get after flash photography at home and also under harsh professional lights at the events.
The shade that I got is Soft Beige, which is defined as a light/medium with warm undertones, which I think defines it perfectly. I am NC 25-30, depending upon exposure to sun and I matched me really nicely (for reference I am Fair in L.A Girl pro coverage high definition long wear Illumination Foundation and Fair in Masarrat Misbah silk foundation).
Okay so final verdict :Its a beautiful foundation, that blends effortlessly, layers up nicely without making you look cakey or feeling heavy on the skin, has a semi matte finish and gives a very healthy luminous glow to your skin. The coverage is light to medium and it stays on for a good 7-8 hours (that’s the longest I have worn it). With retouching and setting with powder, the longevity of the foundation increases for sure.
