Skin Detox ? Yes Please with L’Oreal Paris Pure Clay Detox & Brighten Treatment Mask
Is it just me or the detox craze has taken over the world ? I mean everyone is detoxing one way the other , someone is taking those juices and some take soups and people like me who are lazy as anything put masks on their face ! Lol yes you heard it right ! While everyone is detoxing their liver ,I just put on a detox mask and detox my skin as I unwind for the bed (no it doesn’t help in weight loss ,just saying 😀 )
So,basically recently there has been quite a hubbub about these new masks newly launched by L’Oreal Paris named as PURE CLAY MASKS ,that claim to give you a salon treatment with some added benefits in each type of the mask .
Now without any further adieu, lets jump to this super quick review (you wish :P) :

Directions:

My Experience :
The L’Oreal Paris pure clay mask comes in heavy 1.7oz (48 gm) glass jar with a screw top lid and an added lid inside to cover the mouth of the jar . The packaging is quite sturdy and glass is thick enough that you can ACCIDENTALLY slip it from your hand it and it will remain safe ( been there done that ! ) ,point being its really travel safe and you can carry it in your bag without worrying about the breakage or spilling .
The product itself is a thick and smooth cream like in texture with no solid particles whatsoever. Since it has charcoal as an active ingredient , it won’t surprise anyone that it is gunmetal grey in color . I really really like how smoothly it glides on the skin wihtout an effort and tugging the skin . However, one of the down side of this product is that particular fragrance that reminds you of Men’s Cologne and a pretty strong one . Not that it will irritate the wits out of you but still those people who don’t like their products strongly fragrant or have an aversion to men’s cologne , they would find it quiet strong . I ,however , don’t mind the fragrance at all hence I can easily bear with it given the amazing results this products gives !
Now according to the description given on the packaging , the product claims to Absorb excess sebum, eliminate imperfections , clarify complexion and make skin purer and cleaner use after use making it fresher and breathable .
Now that I have used this mask about 5 times in total over the span of 14 days , I think I am able to put my verdict forward without a doubt . Here is to each claim one by one so we don’t miss out on anything :
- Absorbs excess sebum : a big fat YES ! One of the best thing about this mask is that it really absorbs all the excess oil from the face ,deep cleansing your face and doesn’t dry it out at all .
- Eliminates Imperfections : If by imperfections they mean the tiny spots we get due to clogged pores and black heads , then its a yes. However , I haven’t found any reduction in my uneven skin tone or a few marks here and there as yet .
- Clarifies Complexion : Hell YES ! Ever since I have started using it , my skin has been behaving pretty well and since there hasn’t been any major break out ,the complexion is getting clearer with each use . Here you must know that by Clear complexion I don’t mean Fairer or even skin tone . It helps with neither but my skin looks a lot more fresh ,bright and healthier than before
- Pure Clean Skin : YES YES and YES ! This is the best thing about this mask .Once you have it on , you can actually feel it working on your skin .It tingles a bit and as it dries ,makes your skin tighter . By the end of the treatment (15 minutes , I like to leave it longer because I like the feel of it ) you can actually see how it has pulled out the dirt and gunk out of your pores , I mean literally you can see the tiny spots all over your problem areas. After washing it off (without any rubbing) You can see there is a visible difference in your skin . The pores are much more clearer and look shrunken in size and skin feels soft and supple .
Creamy , non drying Texture
How I Use the L’Oreal Pure Clay Detox & Brighten Mask:
I have this mask in my skin care routine( read about it HERE) for about 2 weeks now and I have used it in different ways up til now . I use this mask every alternate day or sometimes after 2 days too (depends on how lazy I am that day ). Normally I would first cleanse my skin with my Bioderma Sensibio H2O , then evenly apply the mask all over my face leaving the eyes and lips area . I leave it on for about 15 to 20 minutes and let it air dry .During the time , you would feel slight tingling and cooling feeling which I think is absolutely fine , because it is a clay mask and clay masks are supposed to give you a cooling effect. After washing it off , I pat dry the face and then apply my most trusted Spa in a Bottle Youthful glow Night Serum . By every weekend , I would go in with The Body Shop Tea Tree Scrub after I take of the mask which takes out any residue remaining and then moisturize.
This whole routine has made me fall in love with my skin like never before because the end result is smoother , clearer and cleaner skin that is soft and supple !
All in all , I would definitly recommend you guys to try it out and feel the difference it gives yourself !!
